Taken for the Bicentennial in 2000 as a series of 9 iconic images, NYC Icons, shot with an 8x20 vertical bellows camera. The camera and sheet film were modified for the project. All the prints are ‘contact prints’ and hand printed by master printer, Girard Laumont.
As well as being an instantly recognizable icon of New York, the Flatiron Building is credited with popularizing the term “23 skidoo.”
